Managing End of the Year Behavior & Currently

I'm almost there! 2 1/2 days left for me! Thursday we had our popsicle party and our popcorn party on Friday! Tomorrow we will get soaked at the park, Tuesday our watermelon party and on Wednesday (our last day and 1/2 day) we will have yearbook signing, our class awards and make english muffin pizzas.

If you read my blog, then you know I work with special needs children, many of who have severe behavioral issues. This is what I have been doing to control student behavior these last few days.

3 strikes and you're out!!
Each morning students are beginning their day with 3 tally marks. If they lose all their marks, then they don't get to participate in the party that day! It has worked like a charm.....sadly though one student did lose their popsicle party on Thursday.

Simple, yet very effective!
It is encouraging them to be on their best behavior and after seeing one student already lose out, they know it's for real!!

Well looky lou............

I'm being featured on Farley's sidebar this month!!!
Woo hoo!
So excited!!

So how can I not link up for her Currently this month! Right?

Listening - Doesn't it seem I'm always listening to the history channel. What can I say....my hubby loves his history channel.

Loving - I finished up my end of year slideshow this evening and I love it. I love all the song choices and it all fit together so nicely. It was over 40 minutes long with almost 400 photos!!! Wow! I really took some photos this year! I managed to get it down to 31 minutes by shortening the transition between photos!!

Thinking - report cards aren't done!!! Yikes! Only two more nights to get them done!

Wanting - I desperately need a couple more hours this evening to get every thing done for the morning. It's almost bedtime already!!! Where did the day go??

Needing - laundry to get done, but it just keeps sitting there in those baskets!

Bucket list -
I want to cook more this summer and try out all of the recipes I've been pinning!
I want to open an Etsy shop!
My BFF is coming to visit that I have not seen in 25 years!!! Yes, 25 years! Crazy! I'm excited to see her. I can't wait to have so much fun with her catching up!

Click on Farley's button above to head over and link up what you're currently doing!!!

  1. I hear you about the laundry! It would be perfect if we could train those clothes like our dogs! lol Just tell them to go or sit or stay and they listen! lol 25 years is a really long time to go without seeing you best friend! Mine lives 3 1/2 hours away, so we don't get to see each other very much. But I do see her a couple of times each year, so I can't imagine what you feel! I hope y'all have a ton of fun while she's visiting!!

  2. I am so glad you were the post in front of me! I love finding new special ed blogs to follow! I am with you on having additional hours added to the day. There never seems to be enough time, but more than enough to do. I can't wait to read your future posts and go back and reader your older ones. I love your 3 strikes and you're out! I might have to try it this week :)

  4. How exciting to catch up with your friend after all that time! That's certainly something to look forward to. :)

I have about 2 more weeks left before reports are due... although I will probably leave most of them to the last minute like I usually do.
