Get to Know a Special Educator!

A linky party for Special Educators?....why yes...don't mind if I do!

I was super excited to see this linky from "Tales of a Carolina Teacher" today! She's hosting a linky party for special educators to meet and give their best advice for the new school year! I mean a linky just for special educators! It's so hard to meet up with special educators in blogville and especially all in one place!

So here's a little about me and my top advice for special educators!

If any of you follow my blog, then you know my passion is shaping behaviors! I love the challenge and the reward that follows! I love taking the most defiant child that nobody wants in their class and shaping them into the most well-behaved child! I teach using ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) and DTT (Discrete Trial Teaching).

Here are a couple of PowerPoints I put together for my paras that share some of these strategies! You may find these helpful as well!

AND....if you're a Special Educator, click on the link at the top of my blog that reads, "Special Education Blogs," and you'll discover even more Special Education Bloggers. Be sure to link up your blog too while you're there!

  1. I just found your blog through the blog hop! I am having a hard time getting it to load, but I will be back, might be my connection. Thanks for the PowerPoints they're great! I also love getting that kid that no one wants and changing their behaviors for the better. I have found it the past though, that some teachers don't appreciate what we do to them, because they think it makes them look bad. I'll be back!

  2. Thanks for joining the blog hop. I love how passionate you are about modifying behavior. This will be my first year teaching behavior support so I will be reading your blog for some advice!

  3. Thanks so much for sharing those powerpoints! I will definitely be using them with my staff this upcoming year.

And just so you know, your background picture isn't currently available. I had this issue with Photobucket before (such a pain! they only allow a certain amount of view per account per month...) and now put all my pictures in Picasa Web (through Blogger) and don't have an issue with how many times they are viewed. Blogger has some great backgrounds to choose from too! :)

I LOVE reading your comments, and replying! But the only way you'll get my reply is if you are a blogger and have that set up on your Blogger account, or if you come back to your comment to see if I've replied,(which is unlikely to happen). So please leave your email when you comment so that I can be sure you get my response!
