OKAPI Reading Probes

Have you ever heard of OKAPI?? It's awesome for creating reading probes for your students. I originally discovered this fabulous application a few years ago through Intervention Central, but when I attempted to use it last weekend, I couldn't find it! After doing a little searching, I was able to relocate it thank goodness, {here}

OKAPI is super easy to use too! Type in your title, author, and text. Click on "Create CBA Reading Probes" and you're done!

You can also choose additional options such as having difficult words highlighted. I uncheck all of these boxes, but you may find them useful for your probes.

Your probe will open in a new window. I then, copy and paste it into Word or PPT, you don't have to, but this way you can save it and edit it if you need to!

And wala! Here's my probe. It also provides me a space to record words read and errors.

If this has got you thinking about typing up probes for your class, check out the ones I have already done in my store {here}.

Centers for Teaching Emotions

Emotions are a difficult concept to teach and there aren't alot of materials out there to assist us in teaching them. Over the last couple of weeks I have been working on emotion centers for my classroom and they finally became available in my store yesterday!

There are 8 different centers I'll show you a snippet of. Each center covers 15 different emotions.

I've also included individual student feelings charts as a bonus!

I'm super excited to begin using these with my kiddos this week! I know they are going to be fun and engaging for my students. I'm hoping they will be helpful for you and your students too! Click{here} to see it!

So how are you feeling?
I'm feeling excited as I have an old friend coming in to town today!!

Freebies for a Last Minute Leprechaun Visit

If you're not on Spring Break this week, it's still not too late to throw together a classroom Leprechaun visit with this Leprechaun Kit! It's a great way to bring some fun into the classroom and your students will remember it year after year!
The kit is filled with loads of fun from Leprechaun slime to Leprechaun pudding, to fun trivia to Leprechaun traps. Some other things included are a letter from the Leprechaun, goodie bag toppers, clickable links, a colleague game, coloring page and hat craftivity, writing prompt sheets and several other printables.
While you won't have time at this point to make traps or participate in the colleague game, here are some simple steps from the kit to help you throw together a last minute, successful Leprechaun visit.

I've also included the letter from the kit for you, just click on it!
And now it looks like you'll need the Leprechaun Dust recipe....so here is a non-clickable version of that too!
I wish you a successful Leprechaun Visit! If you use my tips and freebies here, I'd love to hear about it!

If you'd like to purchase the kit for some of the other activities or to store away for next year, you can check it out in my store {here}.

!!!Happy St. Patty's Day!!!
