February In A Click! Let Me Plan Your Month!

February's around the corner, so it's time for "February In A Click." Prior to the first of each month, I post a clickable document with links to the top activities I will be doing in my classroom during the upcoming month. All you have to do is click on the activities you like to be taken to the activity source!
Here's what I have planned for February! So many events in February......Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day, Dental Week, 100th Day of School (for many), Chinese New Year, President's Day!!! Am I forgetting anything?? It's a fun-filled month for sure!

Most of these activities are even free!!

We are going to do the Cherry Salad shortly before our Valentine Exchange Party and have it as a snack for the party!

Our 100th day falls on Groundhog Day, so this will be a busy day!! :) We will be doing activities from all 3 of the groundhog units you see.....and 2 of them are FREE! My "Race to 100" up top is also free!

For Chinese New Year, I'm thinking of doing rice instead of cotton balls. I was also thinking since their feasts generally consist of symbolic food.... long pasta represents long life, citrus fruit represents wealth, seafood represents good luck....and gold symbolizes good fortune, I am thinking about having a similar feast in my classroom!

If you'd like to make the Chinese New Year decoration above, here is the image "meaning good luck" that you will need.
If you'd like to use these activities, download the clickable document below to access all of them in a simple click!

Plus, don't forget to mark your calendars for this BIG event coming on Sunday!! I'll be revealing the first secret envelope right here!!!

Huge Upcoming Hop & LOTS of Science!

Wow! I haven't blogged since we returned from winter break.....one reason is because I've been whipping up a special treat for you!!

That's right! 28 of us are working to deliver you a special Valentine treat every day next month! Each day you'll be able to visit my blog for this image and click on your next secret envelope!

They'll be freebies, giveaways, tips, and some bloggers will be offering PAID items from their store for FREE! So be sure to come back on February 1st for your first secret envelope!

Besides working on this fabulous bloghop....Here's what I've been up to these last two weeks in my classroom!

Lots of Science!
Groovy Lava

Water Jet - these pictures aren't that great, but some of our geysers got as high as 2 feet!

Winter Slime

Wonder Snow - which is really fun for my kids, because we live in the desert where it never snows!

Homemade Hot Cocoa - and I do mean homemade. You use powdered milk, coffee creamer, and Nestle Quick....add warm water, so the kids can drink it, marshmallows and you've got homemade hot cocoa! The kids think it's really cool to make their own from scratch.

And more Science!!
Snow Blizzard

We finished up the week with Martin Luther King Jr. activities and these cute suncatcher mittens from Maria Manroe of Kinder Craze. You can visit her tutorial {here}.

You can find all of the Science Experiments in my "Science for a Year" kit. The ones above were just added lastnight, plus one more not shown, so if you've purchased this previously....be sure to click on the picture to download the updated version!

See ya soon!!

Top Pinterest Picks Party!

I'm excited to share a few winter pins today with "Inspired Owl's Corner" and "Pawsitively Teaching" for their Pinterest linky party!! Here are three of my top faves, two that we will be doing in my class next week!

My students LOVE FROZEN, they love Science, and since it never snows in the desert they are sure to be super excited about this one!

This will be messy, but fun! With only 9 students and two aides...I think we can pull it off!

You can click on each picture to be taken to the direct pinterest link.

Be sure to check me out on Pinterest for more ideas! And if you're not visiting me from "Inspired Owl's Ways" or "Pawsitively Teaching" be sure to visit their blogs for more inspiring pins on the 3rd of every month!

Currently & One Word Resolution Linky

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I'm starting my year out linking up with "Primary Powers" for her one word resolution and of course with "Farley" for the first Currently of 2015!

Here is my one word resolution!

SKINNY!!!
I miss being skinny and looking good in just about anything! I used to never have this problem, but once I hit 40 I started packing on the pounds. It seems I'm averaging about a ten pound weight gain each year for the last 3 years! Yep, 30 pounds is my goal....and my diet started today!
Wish me luck!

My Currently is pretty self-explanatory! All of my decorations are down and put away except the tree! I have this thing about leaving the tree up at least through New Year's Eve! We usually have guests over on New Year's Eve, and so I like to have my tree up for that! Just doesn't seem right without it.

I'm really wanting a pair of boots....can you believe I don't own a pair?? I mean who doesn't have boots, right.......ME! They are so in....and I keep seeing everyone wearing all of these cute boots, but I can't find any that I like in my size!!

Anyone else bring home a pile of projects to work on during break and haven't touched it yet?? That is so typical of me.....but hey, at least my intentions are there....and there's still 3 days left!

And YES to diet & exercise....I'm ready....let's do this!!!

And just MAYBE I'll be back in a bikini by June and not hiding my fat under a one piece or a cover up.

And last, I WISH for a grand 2015 for all of you!!!
