SPEDtacular Sunday Freebies {New Weekly Linky}

Hello SPED community! Ready for some freebies!?! I'm launching a new weekly linky explicitly for SPED teachers! You may be familiar with "Freebie Friday" that we all love from "Teaching Blog Addict," and "Manic Monday" hosted by Charity Preston of "Classroom Freebies," but I think it's time for a resource linky specific to special education teachers! What'd you say!?

Every Sunday I'll host a link up here on my blog for "SPEDtacular" freebies! Bloggers and TPT sellers can link up their freebies each week from their blogs or stores. Those that don't have a blog or store can visit each week to download free resources for their classrooms!

Link Up Rules

1. All resources must be FREE!
2. Your freebie may link to your blog or store.
3. Freebie does not have to be related specifically to SPED, but should be practical for SPED.
4. If you are linking up from your blog, using this image in your post and linking back to my blog is not required, but is greatly appreciated! Also, feel free to share this image on your social media so your other SPED friends don't miss out! :)

*I recommend using an image of your freebie & not your button when linking up.

Let's get started!
Link up your free resources below and/or download the free resources you can use in your classroom! The link up tool will close on Saturday each week, but freebies will remain accessible! Come back every Sunday to link up or download new freebies!

Do You Survey Parents On Your Performance?

Do you ever wonder how your students' parents see you? Do they think you're a good teacher? Are they happy with the progress their child is making? Do they wish you would communicate more? Do they complain every night about the homework you send? I know many of us only see a parent once a year....at conferences or the annual IEP meeting....and sometimes not even then.

Well this year my district is implementing the new teacher evaluation system using the Nevada Educator Performance Framework (NEPF). Here are standards 4 and 5 from the professional standards.

While looking at standard 4, I thought, well I'm not lacking in communication. I send home daily behavior reports, a monthly newsletter, I have an updated class website, I use class messenger to send them reminders on their cell phones. I welcome parents to visit anytime, although they rarely do. But then I thought, how often do I really seek out their input, other than at the annual IEP meeting?

And then when I looked at standard 5, I thought, now how am I going to achieve this? My students are MR, Autistic, and some non-verbal. I mean sure, I know my students know I value and care about them and I know they feel safe with me, but how am I going to provide evidence for this standard?? It can't just be what I know in my heart, it's all about the EVIDENCE!

After sharing my thoughts with my principal, she came up with the idea of a parent survey. What a great idea?? I mean many of us do parent surveys at the beginning of the year but we are surveying their child. And schools do surveys surveying overall school performance. But what about a survey that allows parents to survey you and provide input??! Even when I googled it and searched TpT....nothing!

So I've created a parent survey to improve my professional standards in this area and as part of my evidence for standards 4 and 5.

You are welcome to snag it up and use it for free to survey your parents!

MONDAY MADE IT & CLASS REVEAL

Today was the start to our third week back with students and I'm finally getting settled in and catching my breath! No matter how hard I try to go into each new year prepared and organized, it just never seems to go my way!

Finally, I have a little time to share some things I've made for my classroom and to reveal my class photos!!! I was super excited when I sat down at the computer and also realized that it too, is Tara's monthly Monday Made It Linky Party!!!

These are Skittles candles. I made these for my SPED team to
start the year off "SCENT-Sational!!!"

Now when I pull sticks to choose students, I don't need another cup to put the chosen ones in! Simply flip the stick. If the green side is up, that student has had a turn!

Trash scrap buckets on each table! No more bits of paper everywhere or students wasting time going to the trash can!

And the most genius idea EVER!! Glue sponges!!

I saw these all over blogland last year, but stuck with my glue sticks! After spending a fortune on glue sticks last year, finding caps everywhere along with dried up sticks, glue in hair, on tables, and all over hands, and mushed up glue on papers.......glue sticks became my biggest pet peeve last year!!!!!!! While these have become my best friend! If you haven't done this yet in your classroom, you are missing out! No glue mess in over 2 weeks now!
And although still a work in progress....here's my classroom!!!!
My room is never done! I'm constantly changing it throughout the year....many times over! I've already made 2-3 changes that aren't even revealed in these photos. I guess I may be a very indecisive person. It's just that I try new things and they don't work, or I don't like the way it looks, or I find a better way!!! And let's face it....I am one that likes change!!! I don't think I've ever started a year out with a PERFECTLY complete room!!

The pictures are pretty self-explanatory, so I'm not going to elaborate too much. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment! :)

And here's a little line up chart freebie for you!
