FREE FONTS, GARDEN LABELS, and FB "LIKE" POP-UP

Thanks for dropping by for "Bloomin' Blogger Sundays." But first, I must share with you my first two fonts ever that I created last night.  I can't believe I actually made my own fonts. Wow! I had no clue how to do this until today when I visited Angie at "The First Grade Scoop" and she told me about the ifontmaker app. I downloaded the app for $6.99 and within minutes I had created these two fonts! I am so happy to share them with you. I hope you will use them and love them as much as I do!

When you click the font name, it will open another window where  you will click download. This is a first so if you run into any problems let me know.

School Days

Springtime is arriving in Nevada........it's garden time!
I am very lucky to have an empty "bed of dirt" right outside my classroom door. I don't think anythings been planted there in forever, but the bricked in bed is there. Soooo, my students are going to plant flowers, radish, and lettuce there tomorrow!!!  My son did all the prep......isn't he great? He dug out about six inches of hard, desert dirt and we put in 12 bags of soil.

"During"
I say "During" because I didn't take a "before" photo and I can't seem to find the "after" picture......BUT here is the "during" picture! I'm so terrible when it comes to picture taking.

Here are the garden labels we will use for our lettuce, radishes, and flowers. For the flowers, I may use the blank ones instead to put the students names on to identify{their}flower that they planted. Each morning after the pledge and attendance, we will go outside and the students will be responsible for watering and taking care of their flowers.

You can get the garden labels FREE {here}. If you are planting different types of vegetables and/or flowers, let me know and I will be happy to edit the names for you. For the vegetables, I have found that radish and lettuce are the best for school projects, because they grow and produce within a 25-45 day period unlike all other veggies you will find.

Here are the flowers that we will be planting tomorrow. The kids are going to be so excited! It doesn't look like alot, but I only have 9 students in my self-contained class and I have 24 plants. So each student will get to plant 2-3 plants.

I'm linking my FONTS and Garden Labels up with:

AND Now......on to your Blogging How-to!! As promised, this week I will show you how to add the Facebook Like pop-up window to your blog.

You have most likely seen it on other blogs and it is an amazing traffic driving tool for your FB page. I went one week with only 3 facebook likes on my new FB. I added this pop-up window to my blog and within two days I went from 3 likes to 21!!! Isn't that crazy? What's cool is that it only appears the first time the visitor visits your blog so it doesn't become an annoying pop-up to everyone that follows you.

So here's how to get it:

Step 1: In the top right corner of your "blogger" dashboard go to:
>design
>then, layout (on the lower left sidebar)
>add a gadget (on your right or left sidebar, depending on your blog design

Step 2: The gadget screen will open.
>Scroll down and choose "Java Script/html"

Step 3: This will place a new gadget in the right hand side bar that will read "Java Script/html."
>Click on that gadget.

Step 4: A new screen will open.
>In the box, copy and paste the following code:

<style>

**Important: The code is very long. Make sure you get the entire code.

**You will need to edit one part of the code!

Where you see The Bender Bunch highlighted in yellow......change that to your Facebook user name. This is the portion of your FB URL behind the .com/

Step 5: In the window you pasted the code, click save.

That's it! Sit back and watch your FB followers double.....
or maybe even triple!

***Remember, this only pops up the first time you visit the blog, so you will not see it each time you visit your blog. If you want to be sure that it is working, visit your blog from a different computer than the one you are on now.

If you'd like me to visit your blog to see if the pop-up is working, just let me know!

Thanks a BUNCH for visiting........Have a wonderful Sunday!

  1. Traci! LOVE your blog! :) Just became your newest follower! Girl-you are almost to 100! If you celebrate with a giveaway, let me know-I'd love to contribute a product from my TPT store!

Thank you too for the facebook widget instructions! I've been trying to figure out how to do that and was tickled when I saw that you gave the code. I've added it to my blog, so hopefully it's working!

    1. Hi Becca,

Thanks for following and your kind words. I love your blog too and have already been a follower! I am actually planning a giveaway and in fact, am planning to post it tomorrow. I so appreciate the offer to contribute, but I'm doing a 777 theme, 7 blogs, 7 prizes, 7 winners type of thing and if I accept your offer it will mess up the theme. I was thinking about also doing a small giveaway for my FB followers.....would you be interested in contributing for that?

I am so happy you found the FB gadget helpful....however, I just visited your page and it is not working. Double check your codes and make sure that you got it all and that you didn't accidentally add part of my text that was not part of the code. If one letter is off, it will mess it up. Let me know after you check it and refresh it and I'll view your page again to check it.

    2. Hi Traci!

Your 777 giveaway idea sound great!! I would love to contribute to a FB follower giveaway! I'd be happy to contribute the Long E tennis Teams unit from my store! Or if there is another one that you'd rather use, just let me know! Feel free to email me-- foxwellforest {at} gmail {dot} com

Thanks for checking on the FB gadget! I was wondering if it was working. I just added the code again, so if you don't mind checking and letting me know, that would be great! Thanks so much!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

  4. Hi Traci,
I know I'm a little late to the party, but I found your blog while googling how to install a facebook pop-up! Would you mind popping over to my blog to see if it worked? I followed your instructions, cleared my cookies, and it doesn't seem to be working. But, maybe I just can't see it!

I'm also your newest follower. So glad to have stumbled across your blog!

  5. Hi Traci,
    What's your secret for getting photos onto the font app? I haven't figured that one out for myself and would love to know how! P.s. I'm featuring your quirky font on Teach Junkie soon {wink}

I LOVE reading your comments, and replying! But the only way you'll get my reply is if you are a blogger and have that set up on your Blogger account, or if you come back to your comment to see if I've replied,(which is unlikely to happen). So please leave your email when you comment so that I can be sure you get my response!
