97 Followers!!!! WoW!
There's that "7" AGAIN! It just keeps popping up! It started with "7" bloggers that offered to contribute "7" prizes to my giveaway, and then I decided not to limit the winners to just 2-3......why not share the love and let "7" people win!! Then, I realized "7" is a lucky number, "777" is a lucky casino slot number, and hey......"St. Patrick's Day" is approaching, which is known as the "Lucky" holiday! So, the "LUCKY 7 GIVEAWAY" was born! But it gets even better!
Then, after organizing my giveaway, I realized that I needed "7" more followers to make it happen! There's that "7" again! So tonight, when I checked my followers to see if I had gained my "7", there was that "7" again!!! I was at "97!!"
And what better day to start a giveaway than the "7th" of the month?

Great giveaways! I am slowly getting addicted to clip art, but only organize it by one folder labeled Clip Art:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering Rachel! I too, only have a folder labeled clipart at this time. But now that I am rapidly becoming addicted to clipart, this method is no longer working because I am accumulating so much! I am thinking I need to organize by theme. I am also running into the problem of losing track of who to credit. So there has to be a better way!

I don't have a great trick to organize it all. I used to have a 3-ring binder with all the images in it but it got too big! I love DJInkers and Melonheadz!

Great giveaway! I do not have much clipart as I do not know how anyone has the time or energy to make the awesome things that they do:) I just purchase everyone elses:)
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya! I have never designed my own clipart! Like you, don't know how they find the time, plus wouldn't even know where to start! I'm not that talented. I was speaking of how you organize the clipart that you purchase.

I use one folder for the clip art. Right now I can't afford the one you pay for, so I depend on My Cute Graphics.

Hi Crystal,
DeleteI love "My Cute Graphics." I can't believe she offers her clipart for free! And I know what you mean, it can get expensive before you know it! I am slowly starting my collection by grabbing a few dollars here and there! That's another reason I love "Dollar Graphics Depot." All of her clipart is only and always $1.00!!! Good luck on the giveaway!!

I have a folder on my desktop, but also a flash drive devoted to clip art only so it goes to school w/ me. dbednarsk@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteDo you organize by theme or by creator.....or do you just save it in one folder???
Delete~Traci
I love JW illustrations. By far the cutest clip art I've found. I organize my clip art by theme, unless I have a lot by one person/company then those are grouped together.
ReplyDeleteThanks....this is one I have not heard of. Can't wait to run check it out!

I wish I could say I was more organized about my clip art, but mostly it is just organized by holidays, teaching themes (science, math, etc.)or just plain school. I love clip art!!!
ReplyDeleteCandace,
DeleteThis sounds pretty organized to me! I need to do this. Right now, mine is in one of two folders----clipart or frames/borders. As I get more and more, I'm finding that this is not working because I'm searching through too much to find one thing. I'm also losing track of who to credit! I'm trying to decide if it's better to organize using theme or using artist!

ReplyDeleteI have recently become obsessed with clipart! Right now, I have it organized by month on my computer. So glad I found your blog!
ReplyDeleteMs. Cranfill's Class
Hey I like that idea, by month! You are the first one to do it this way! I think I like this better than by theme! Thanks for this great tip! I too, have recently become obsessed with clipart!!! I can spend hours looking! Thanks for stopping by! Good luck on the giveaway!

I haven't started creating my own products yet so I don't have a stash of clip art (yet!) I am in my first year of teaching and doing everything I can to survive (and loving each and everyday of it), but I hope I can start blogging and creating materials this summer! I look forward to reading others clip arts secrets :)
ReplyDeleteCourtney, congrats on your first year of teaching. That can be a rough year and alot of trial and error. I'm pretty new at design myself, but now that I'm beginning to acquire a collection of clipart I'm finding that I've got to find a better way to organize it or you'll spend forever just trying to find that one particular background or frame you downloaded. You'll have a head start on this now once you start getting your stash! :) Thanks for entering the giveaway! Good luck!!!!

I have folders for things like background papers, frames, holidays, animals, etc. At the beginning I didn't do a great job labeling it but now I put the creator's name on the folder so I know where I got it.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome tips Suzy! Thanks! One of my problems has been not remembering who to credit or where I got the clipart from. Thanks for sharing the tip on how to manage this. Good luck on the giveaway!!!

Organizing my clip art is definitely a challenge. I have folders for the source of each thing, so I remember to give credit. And then within those folders, I organize by theme.

Folders within folders....that's a great idea! The giveaway is going a little slow, but good. Are your followers increasing from the entrees??
Delete~Traci
Yes! I'm so grateful to you for letting me help with the giveaway. I've gained about 20 followers since you posted the giveaway!
DeleteDanielle
I honestly haven't started buying other people's clip art yet to add to my products...I'm too worried I'll forget to give someone the proper credit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for running the giveaway!
I know what you mean about giving proper credit. It can be actually stressful. I have seen where a couple of bloggers just include a generic credit sheet at the end of all their work, that says something like "I use graphics from all of the following" and then list all of their clipart artists on that page even though they may not have used their work in that particular project. That might not be a bad idea.

What a great giveaway!!! Newest follower, too!

I organize my clip art by theme (school, animal, holiday, etc.) in their own folders in my "blogs" folder! Makes it so easy to find just what I need!

Mindful Rambles
I usually put the clip art in a folder labeled clip art
ReplyDeleteLoving this giveaway! I have clipart in a subfolder of graphics (also have background images, frames, etc as sub folders). Within the clipart folder, it is categorized by theme which may be animal, holiday, etc.
